How MJI Builds Leaders

Not a class you attend once. A path you walk with people who won’t let you quit.

Every MJI member grows through three branches. Join one, or all three.

MJI Book Club

Sharpen your mind.

Weekly reading sessions, book reviews, reading challenges, and author conversations that turn scattered scrolling into structured thinking. 650+ members reading together every week.

OutcomeA reading culture, and the ability to think clearly under pressure.

MJI Discipleship Group

Anchor your character.

Bible study, prayer, accountability groups, and one-on-one mentorship, in an intimate cohort currently 33 members deep, on purpose. Character is built in small rooms.

OutcomeCharacter that holds when no one’s watching.

MJI Outreach

Put your growth to work.

From door-to-door village visits in the Urhobo language to orphanage care and prison ministry: humanitarian missions that turn personal development into visible community impact. 250+ lives reached across 6 communities and facilities.

OutcomeCompassion in action, not theory.

Why MJI and not another youth group:

Most programs hand you motivation. MJI hands you a system: annual goals, weekly execution, real mentorship, and a national chapter structure that holds you accountable long after the hype fades.

Our Standard

If it doesn’t build you, we don’t do it.

Every single MJI activity is required to produce at least one of six outcomes:

Purpose DiscoveryLeadership DevelopmentCharacter FormationIntellectual DevelopmentSpiritual GrowthCommunity Transformation

MJI is non-profit, non-political, and non-governmental. Our Discipleship branch develops spiritual maturity as one part of a whole-person model, alongside intellectual growth (Book Club) and practical service (Outreach). You choose your track.

Membership is free. Some events or resources may carry a small cost, always communicated in advance.

Yes. MJI operates a formal Child & Youth Protection policy: every leader and volunteer follows strict safeguarding procedures, participants are treated with dignity and respect, and every activity has clear reporting channels.

Yes. MJI runs both local and virtual chapters, with active communities on WhatsApp and Telegram. Better yet, you could be the reason a chapter opens in your city.

Chapters follow a standardized path: Awareness → Interest → Registration → Orientation → Community Formation → Leadership Development → Official Launch, with continuous mentorship from National Leadership after launch.

Chapters run weekly activities across the three branches. Weekly reading sessions take about an hour; everything else scales with your availability. Consistency matters more than volume.

That’s the whole point. Leadership appointments are based on Character, Capacity, Commitment, and Consistency. Every member has a development path toward responsibility.

Yes. MJI actively partners with schools, universities, NGOs, churches, community organizations, government agencies, and corporate organizations whose goals align with our mission.
